Secure boot vmware 6.0 update update#
I'm trying to update vcsa 6, but it won't start. Secure Boot ensures that any driver or application loaded on the ESXi host can be trusted by checking whether it is cryptographically signed. It means the update is completed and you can reboot the VCSA. VMware vSphere 6.7 provides support for TPM 2.0 because it enables one of the vSphere features Secure Boot, which was introduced with vSphere 6.5. If you face this problem, you need to check the update log /var/log/vmware/applmgmt/software-packages.log on VCSA (using SSH) and find a line similar: "UpdateTask: status=completed, percent=100". Update 29th January: If you update at least VCSA 6.0 U1 using VAMI (patching directly from internet or using local repository), the update may hang at 70%. Take a look at my article to understand the procedure to upgrade ESXi 6.0 to ESXi 6.5 using Update Manager. Small companies with very few ESXi servers may not needed Update Manager to perform the upgrade of ESXi host. var/log/vmware/applmgmt/software-packages.log One of the easiest way to upgrade ESXi 6.0 to ESXi 6.5 is using ISO image. For more information please follow the post here. I had a problem with VAMI after patching my VCSA 6.0. Note: If you have vCenter with external PSC, please follow above steps at first on PSC and then on VCSA. If you want to install Windows 11 on your PC that doesnt support TPM 2.0 & Secure Boot, continue reading below to learn how you can bypass the problem 'This PC cant run Windows 11'.

Update 10th September: Since VCSA 6.0 U1 you can again update your vCenter Appliance via GUI! So you need to patch your VCSA 6.0 to 6.0U1 using above steps 🙂 and the next time you can use GUI! (VAMI)

: Packages upgraded successfully, Reboot is required to complete the installation.Īs I have shown above, patching/updating of VCSA 6.x is different than vCenter Appliance 5.x but still not complicated 🙂 If your patching is successful, you can delete the snapshot of VCSA 🙂 : Processing software packages in update payload 36/36 : Staging software update packages from ISO Accept EULA and wait till patching/updating will be finished:
